Archaic Period
The Archaic Period lasted from 8000 B.C. - 1000 B.C. This period is divided into three smaller periods which are the early period, the middle period, and the late period. They usually travelled with bands which are groups of 20 to 25 people. During the early Archaic period, many large amimals that the Paleo people hunted became extinct. Because of this, the Archaic people hunted smaller animals. They used the Atlatl and arrowheads for hunting. In this period, the people started using pottery to store all their food in. Around 1000 B.C. traditions started to change and this ended the Archaic Period.
