Active and Passive Voice
In active voice, the subject does the verb's action.
In passive voice the object of the sentence becomes the subject.
1. Bob hit the baseball. (active) The baseball was hit by Bob (passive)
2. He broke the lamp. (active) The lamp was broken by him. (passive)
3. Tommy read the book (active) The book was read by Tommy. (passive)
