The Cotton Gin
Cotton was the major crop in Georgia. Georgia grew a lot of cotton but the fibers on them made them hard to sell. A man named Eli Whitney had a solution to this problem. He invented the cotton gin which removed the fibers from the cotton. This made more money for Georgia. This also created more on plantations and more slaves.

Railroads
Railroads also started to grow in Georgia. They would bring goods from one place to another. This was another way how the state created money. One of the major railroads was the Western & Atlantic Railroad. This railroad ended in a point called Terminus. The railroad causeed this point to become more popular and was later the capitol of Georgia.
